Gorynich is a real lifesaver in many difficult situations, especially when it comes to air support and transportation.

This franchise character differs from all others because this aircraft acts as a "three-in-one" one. Or even four. Three are pilots (more precisely, superheroes with superpowers), and the fourth one is the experimental aircraft itself, called "Gorynich the Serpent".

Aircraft

Somewhere in the north or northwest of Russia, on the shore of a sea or a large lake, a testing center of a secret research institute is located. At the pier, there is an aircraft standing on the water, its appearance reminiscent of a fairy-tale monster, a three-headed dragon or serpent. It is called “Gorynich” and combines the capabilities of an airplane, helicopter, seaplane, and even a spaceship. It can become invisible to the eyes and radars. It can be divided into three independent aircraft with a similar appearance of a flying kite, but with completely different properties. Also, it can enter outer space and operate under water. But the main thing is that, during the flight, even when separated, the crew feels like a single entity. The crew suspects that, when creating the device, despite the fact that it was made by Russian engineers, some elements or ideas of unearthly origin were used. The body material is a completely new metal, a chemical element still unknown in the world, the deposit of which was recently discovered in the north. The engine and weapons of Gorynich are nuclear-based. The aircraft can both destroy things and serve as a “atom for peace”, supplying energy to enterprises, populated areas, and even space stations. Gorynich is controlled partly by AI. Partly, its functioning is coordinated by three pilots. Moreover, a significant part of the control is carried out by the power of thought of the pilots via special helmets, customized individually for each crew member.

Crew

Gorynich’s crew comprises three seasoned pilots. At first glance, they may not appear to be superheroes. Besides their high professionalism, they seem devoid of any superpowers. However, appearances can be deceiving, as each crew member harbors a secret from their past, hinting at their extraordinary nature.

Army aviation pilot, Mansi, Buddhist, phlegmatic.

Born in the vicinity of Surgut, he graduated from his school with honors, served in the army, after which he entered the Higher Military Flight School. He was one of the first to master the newest attack aircraft, fought on it, was shot down in one of the combat missions, was badly burned, but brought the plane to the airfield. After being discharged from the hospital, he wanted to return to the army aviation ranks, but instead, he was offered to temporarily participate in testing some new equipment until full recovery. Andrey agreed, and this proved to be the right decision.

Originally from Vladivostok, Russian, Orthodox Christian, sanguine.

Since childhood, he has been harboring dreams of both the sea and the sky. These aspirations led him to pursue a career as a military test pilot of the Pacific Fleet, where he frequently gets engaged in rescue operations in the Arctic and Far East regions. Proficient in piloting a variety of aircraft, Vasily holds a particular fondness for naval aviation and seaplanes.

Vasily possesses an intriguing quirk he prefers to keep private. During visits to his relatives in Kamchatka, he has encountered bears on several occasions, yet these encounters have always been harmless. The bears appear remarkably friendly toward Vasily, and he even feels a sense of understanding between them, as though they communicate without words.

Pilot-ace of the Russian Aerospace Forces, originally from Makhachkala, Lezgin, Muslim, choleric.

Damir has vast combat experience behind him, spanning different parts of the planet. He even rammed a Western supersonic drone once. Damir has been compared to Pokryshkin in terms of combat effectiveness. He not only always emerges victorious from duels in the sky, but on several occasions, together with his wingman, has successfully confronted entire groups of enemy fighters.

Damir is an athlete, successful in several sports, and an excellent hand-to-hand fighter. He once dreamed of becoming an astronaut, and recently it became known that his childhood dream could come true. Damir was selected to join the cosmonaut corps, and he already began to dream of how he would glorify his native Makhachkala and his family. Instead of receiving an invitation to go to Star City, another offer came. One that was no less, if not more, interesting.

Tests

Despite the differences in characters, temperaments, mentalities, and outlooks on life, three pilots are united by a love for the Motherland and the sky.
When at the training center these three, after extensive research into personality characteristics and psychological diagnostics, were united into one team, it looked strange. They are too different. It seems that psychologists should select a team based on psychological compatibility, but here it is clearly very far from it...
For many months, pilots took various courses at the training center: on controlling Gorynich, on actions in various situations, including team training.
The future crew of Gorynich needed a lot of time and effort to get used to each other, and by the time training was completed, this team building process was not over yet.
However, for some reason the organizers did not focus on this, but moved on to the next stage. A new step in training was the testing of the aircraft itself, during which the pilots learned that Gorynich kept many secrets, secrets that the crew had yet to explore. One of the amazing features of the aircraft is that it is self-learning, selectively. Sometimes pilots discover that Gorynich itself seems to be drawing some conclusions from experience and makes unexpected independent decisions, as if it were not a mechanism, but a thinking being.
In fact, the main goal of the experiment with Gorynich is not so much to test the latest aircraft, but to study the fusion of the human mind and AI, the possibilities and prospects of their cooperation. That is why the organizers of the test chose pilots so different in all respects, abandoning crews with much higher rates of group cohesion. This is part of the experiment.
