Our First Comic Book from the Russian Superheroes Series Is Already on Store Shelves

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! The first superhero comic, Zarya, has been released in the Universe of the Russian Superheroes, marking the beginning of a series of thrilling graphic adventures featuring the main characters.

The Russian Superheroes team acknowledges that many of our compatriots believe comics to be solely an overseas phenomenon, which is not entirely true. As early as the end of the 19th century, short comics, cartoons, and engravings began to emerge in children's and humor magazines in the Russian Empire, winning immediate favor with the audience.

During the Soviet period, comics were actively utilized for propaganda and advertising purposes, as this format resonated perfectly with the working class and did not necessitate complex storytelling techniques. The proletariat truly appreciated the format! The generation of the sixties still fondly remembers the comics featured in "Murzilka" and "Funny Pictures," which became cultural phenomena in their own right. Interestingly, one of the most renowned authors of short graphic stories was the artist and children's writer Viktor Suteev, beloved by many since childhood. As an illustrator, Suteev developed his own recognizable and unique style. 

Nowadays, the popularity of comics in our country is rapidly growing. When we began developing the Universe, we quickly realized that a superhero couldn’t exist without a comic book. After all, it's the perfect medium to convey a special style, atmosphere, dynamic plots, and specific graphics to wide audiences. For the modern younger generation, with its "clip thinking," it has become increasingly difficult to focus on a large amount of information. Children and teenagers crave bright images, and the opportunity to convey a captivating and "correct" story in a compressed and vivid format has become a solution to this challenge. High-quality comic book graphics crystallize the features of the storyline, allowing for clear and vivid demonstrations that might be hard to perceive in a longer book version.

Our objective was not just to create a good, high-quality, educational product that helps children understand and learn important things, but also to tell a fascinating original story about our Russian Superheroes, courtesy of the General Producer of the project, Oleg Roy. We conceived a large series of comics because each superhero in the Universe has unique storylines, superpowers, characters, and secrets. The team decided to focus on the Russian superheroine Zarya. Her story became the "first sign" that opened the series. 

The Russian superheroine Zarya has always dreamt of solving the mystery of her birth. Many, many years ago, Yaga found her in an alien capsule made of strange material among the swamps and raised her as her own daughter. Wise Yaga immediately realized that Zarya was no ordinary girl and tried her best to make Zarya feel at home on our planet. Years passed, but the girl would always feel that she was very different from “people”. In addition to the obvious superpowers, i.e. she never needed food and water, sleep and oxygen, Zarya cannot sometimes understand “human” feelings and emotions.

Though Yaga taught her much, Zarya's desire to uncover the truth about her arrival on Earth only grew stronger over the years. After carefully planning and enlisting the help of Yermak, another Russian superhero, Zarya embarks on an adventure full of dangers and secrets. Of course, our other superhero friends also play a crucial role in her journey. Yet, as is often the case, not everything goes according to plan...

We are confident that each comic in the future Russian Superheroes series will adorn your bookshelf. You can expect amazing, exciting, and dynamic stories from Oleg Roy, accompanied by stylish illustrations, artworks, and sticker packs. Our team of artists poured their talent into each piece of the comic, carefully preserving the fundamentals of the superhero genre. Friends, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of the second comic book in the series, featuring the adventures of the Russian superhero Yermak! Our artists have prepared even more luxurious art, and Oleg Roy has crafted an exciting story about one of our toughest superheroes.
